The basics

Bon Jovi is an American band from New Jersey and was formed in the early 1980s. They’ve had their international breakthrough with their record Slippery When Wet that has some of their greatest hits on it, like Livin’ on a Prayer, Wanted Dead or Alive and You Give Love a Bad Name.

At the MTV VMAs 1989, they played two of their songs with acoustic guitars. That’s why they are considered the inventors of MTV Unplugged.

The lead singer Jon Bon Jovi also acted in a lot of movies such as Young Guns II, Vampires: Los Muertos and quite recently New Year’s Eve. A lot of other rockstars should probably take a leaf out of his book; he’s been married to his high school sweetheart since 1989, has four kids and is still very successful. Now that’s how you live the rockstar lifestyle!

Who should sign up for selling their soul?

That’s a difficult question in this case. Bon Jovi started out as a glam metal band. So if you like 80s rockSteel Panther, Cheap Trick or maybe Van Halen and Kiss, you might want to get an  album that was released in the earlier days.

After the 1980s they shifted to a more rock or hard rock kinda style. Fans of Bruce Springsteen, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith or Thin Lizzy should probably stick with their latest albums.

Meanwhile, country fans should definitly check out their 10th studio record Lost Highway.

How I signed the contract & a short review

I heard a lot of their songs on the radio. The name just kinda stuck with me. One day I decided: I want a Bon Jovi CD. So, I went online, did a lot of research and realized I especially like their new stuff because you can just scream along and rock out to it in the car (that’s the kind of music that I love!!!). Then I ordered Have a Nice Day and I didn’t regret it. But I also really like 80s rock, so naturally I ordered Slippery When Wet too, later on.

As I said Bon Jovi songs are just great for a car ride, summer time and singing along (off-key of course). When getting yourself a CD you should probably be aware of the fact that they are multi-faceted and decide based on what kind of music you usually love which CD you want to get.
